On September, 30th the annual «Translator’s day» took place in the Department of foreign languages and translation of KIU named after V. G. Timiryasov (IEML).

Professional translators shared their experience with the first-year students, future translators.

The event was opened with a jazz composition of the American singer Norah Jones performed by the invited student of the Kazan state institute of culture.

After all performances students tried to solve a riddle on Chinese and English languages and also took part in the quiz devoted to cultural distinctions between Great Britain and the USA. The event ended with awarding for the best literary translation in a competition held by the Department of foreign languages and translation.
