On November, 18th Dr. Joseph Baxer, the president of United Nations Association of Connecticut and the executive director of the Intercultural Institute of Connecticut delivered a lecture in KIU conference hall.

It was dedicated to the topic “A World in Transition: Promise and Peril – Nationalism and Globalization”.

The lecture was attended by KIU rector Asiya Timiryasova and Engel Tagirov, Director of Tatarstan Institute for the Culture of Peace (UNESCO), as well as dozens of students. The discussion touched upon the UN activities, transition in international relations and cooperation between states in different areas and goals of peace-making all around the world. The discussion provoked interest among students and raised a lot of questions concerning the modern global politics.
