The VI International scientific and practical forum “Effective management systems: quality, innovations, sustainable development” started in Grand Hotel Kazan today.
There is a reason why this event is organized by KIU. Our university is the leader of training and implementation of quality management systems and lean production tools in major companies of the Volga region.
Representatives of industrial enterprises and small and medium-sized businesses from different countries took part in the forum, as well as healthcare institutions’ specialists, heads of educational institutions, international guests from Germany, Austria, UK, Czech Republic, France, Sweden, Japan – well-known management experts.
“The forum took rightful place among significant events of university and business communities of Russia and other countries. The forum’s strategic mission is to promote the ideas of quality and lean production, to implement management systems and strategies, to increase business effectiveness, to create competitive positions and innovative technologies. The forum gathers together representatives of public authorities, scientific and business communities, experts of quality. Their professional communication provides an opportunity to discuss the most important issues of management systems, to present innovative ideas and to find out more about scientific research results in the field of management.” – said Irina Antonova, director of KIU Institute of Business Education.
Klara Tazetdinova, Deputy Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan, Timirkhan Alishev, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan and Katsuhiko Suzuki from Toyota Engineering Corporation spoke out at the forum. Mr. Suzuki told about Toyota’s lean manufacturing principles that have been developed between 1948 and 1975. Their main objectives are to design out overburden and inconsistency, and to eliminate waste. He also addressed the issue of workforce ageing.
The opening ceremony was followed with the plenary meeting with focus areas of effective management systems, particular characteristics of lean production tools, topical issues of industrial safety, ecology and labor protection, education and science for sustainable development, international healthcare accreditation and certification practice, quality of state and municipal services etc.
