This week KIU hosted lectures of a famous architect, Professor of Udine University (Italy) Franco Grossi about communication and design.
The famous guest explained to students, why communication became even more important nowadays than ever before, the best way of interpreting of information and who is the main communicator of the Republic of Tatarstan. “Stay hungry, stay stupid”, Professor Grossi quoted the famous phrase of Steve Jobs. These words mean that we should stay hungry till we get a new experience, knowledges and creations. Stupidity is a skill to look forward without being afraid of new challenges, to develop and eager to the most fantastic goals”. The Professor says that any step forward is impossible without communication. As an example he took a rule of Austrian psychotherapist Paul Waclawick that people always interacted with the outside world. Activity or passivity, words or silence play a big role in communication. “Development of a modern society is impossible without effective transfer of information - Grossi said. In this meaning your region is innovative. For the first time I visited Kazan in 2013. Now I see that the city is dynamically developing. It also concerns the whole Republic. Your President is a master of communication”. Students of a Faculty of Psychology listened to this lecture with interest and asked questions.
The second lecture was for students of a design department. Professor Grossi spoke about innovative technologies in design, secrets for creation of real ergonomic and comfortable things and how difficult to realize a design-project. “You will be designers for companies, which produce global projects. That’s why it’s very important to think widely and be a good businessman, marketer and, of course, a great communicator”. In terms of this visit Professor Grossi met with KIU Rector Asiaya Timiryasova and representatives of the University administration. During this meeting it was agreed to open Kazan school of communication on the basis of Kazan Innovative University. This school can attend students from all over the world and specialists, who are interested in this field.
On the official awarding ceremony of the best KIU teachers, who significantly contributed to the system of a higher education, Rector presented to Franco Grossi a diploma “Honored Professor of KIU named after V.G. Timiryasov”.
