There was one more achievement in the athletic victories at KIU. In the “Division A” of the first championship of the Student Paintball League of the Republic of Tatarstan KIU team took the 1^st place.

Participants of the competitions, which were held on May 25, were 10 teams of Republic universities. In the “Higher Division” four teams played: KFU, KGEU, KGASU and KNITU-KAI. In the “Division A” six teams fought for a victory: KIU named after V.G. Timiryasova, KGAVM, KF RSUE, KazGIK, TISBI and KKIRUK. KIU team was represented by students of the Faculty of Law.

For the first time paintball was included in the program of the Olympics of universities. The opening ceremony of the championship was held at the Kazan Paintball Center of the Republic of Tatarstan with the participation of the chairman of the executive committee of the physical culture and sports society “Burevestnik” Emir Kharisov and the Vice-president of the Paintball Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan Timur Devyatkov. Organizers of the event were the Ministry of Sport of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Paintball Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan and the youth physical culture and sports society “Burevestnik” of the Republic of Tatarstan.

A strategic way of thinking, high speed of the reaction and well-coordinated actions allowed our team to become the best in the “Division A” and win the title of champions of the first championship of the Student Paintball League of the Republic of Tatarstan, having beaten the national teams of Kazan State Academy of the Veterinary Medicine named after N.E. Bauman and TISBI.
