KIU student from France, Tatiana Gregorieff, came to Kazan to learn the Russian language and to meet her old friends.
“When I thought about my visit to my father’s homeland, everybody told me what friendly and kind people lived there. It’s true”, - says Tatiana Gregorieff. Tatiana is French with Russian roots. This summer she decided to travel to Russia, where you father had come from, and entered the Russian language course at KIU. “I have Tatar and Russian friends. I like a neighborhood of different cultures. I am happy that I can look at the world fr om different angels and learn more about Russian history”.
According to Tatiana’s words, she was met very friendly at KIU. She likes her cozy room at the university dormitory, university museum, swimming pool and other bonuses of her studying at KIU. The most important is, of course, education: “Teacher are strict here, but friendly and kind. At KIU I am taught on effective methods and am going to improve my knowledge further”.
Now Tatiana knows the basis of the Russian language, however Kazan citizens can understand her very well. For example, when she orders her favorite dishes from the Tatar cuisine. “Noticing my accent, people start talking with me, asking - Wh ere are you from? What are you doing? Once I made friends with people just making an order in Café”.
Next summer Tatiana wants to come to Russia again, to the country, which became the second home for her. Here is a big genealogy, which is going back to Czarist- era, her friends and relatives. “In France,my friends are joking about Russian stereotypes: bears, ushanka, eternal cold weather and etc. I’m a person for them who can break stereotypes and tell the truth about life in Russia. I like Russia and want to develop language skills further. I am grateful KIU for this excellent educational base. I don’t doubt that I will come back again!”
