On November 19, KIU hosted an award ceremony for our students - winners of the Tatarstan computer sports championship and assigning them sports categories. Within the framework of the event, an agreement on partnership and cooperation was also signed between the Tatarstan branch of the Russian Computer Sports Federation and the Kazan Innovation University.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildar Sadriev, Rector of the University Asiya Timiryasova, Chairman of the Board of the Tatarstan branch of the Russian Computer Sports Federation Artur Rakhimzyanov, as well as Airat Silent Gaziev, Kazan coach who won the largest annual Dota tournament with the Russian team "Team Spirit" 2 - The International 2021 with a record prize pool of over $ 40 million.
Rector Asiya Timiryasova greeted the participants: “I can say with confidence that we were not mistaken in deciding to actively support e-sports at the university. We can see how esports is developing. This direction is the future, because we live in a digital world.
By our agreement, we define the points of interaction between all participants in this process. Any new direction always needs qualified personnel, and e-sports needs professionally trained judges. I am sure that the agreement signed today will give a powerful impetus to the development of e-sports in the Republic of Tatarstan. "
Deputy Minister of Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildar Sadriev congratulated the KIU cybersportsmen and gave his parting words, noting that it is necessary to engage in cybersport without forgetting about physical fitness.
Artur Rakhimzyanov, Chairman of the Board of the Tatarstan branch of the Russian Computer Sports Federation, noted that the year was significant for the digital industry and e-sports. The movement "Futurous - Games of the Future" and the Computer Sports Championship, which will be held in 2022 in Kazan, were announced. “Cybersport is painstaking work, concentration, preparation, and behind the team of athletes there is the same team that supports and guides them,” said Artur Rakhimzyanov. - In particular, this is the coach Airat Gaziev, who once started his career in Kazan. And now he is known for having prepared Team Spirit - the top team in the whole world. "
In turn, Ayrat Gaziev noted that he is very glad that universities are helping the cybersport direction: “Before, when I played, I did not meet with understanding from my university. Therefore, it is great that universities are now interested in this ”. Ayrat also praised the KIU team for successful results, but reminded that one should not forget about studies: “Higher education will come in handy in one way or another in life. Therefore, you should not rush into the pool with your head and devote yourself only to games. "
Great interest of the participants was aroused by the video about the international movement "Futurous - Games of the Future" demonstrated during the ceremony, which will unite e-sports, mobility technologies, robotics, artificial intelligence, classic sports with innovative, high-tech elements. Our country is the initiator of the movement, and the first Games of the Future are planned to be held already in 2023.
