Can a person become the best version of themselves in just a few weeks? The beauty and talent contest "Mister and Miss KIU" proves that this is possible. The contestants improve their skills at the stages of the competition and in the final before the exacting jury, discovering the best qualities and new facets of talent in themselves. The main criterion of the competition is beauty, not only external, but, first of all, internal. Intelligence, upbringing, oratory, sense of humor, creative talent - all this is taken into account when grading the competition.

Participants this evening were evaluated by: President of the Public Organization "Miss Tatarstan", Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan Isolda Sakharova, Vice-rector for Economics and Strategic Development Lilia Vorontsova, Vice-rector for Academic Affairs Yulia Kamasheva, Vice-rector for Youth Policy Ruslan Zagitov, Leading Actor of the Kazan Chamber Theater "Shift", Head of the Theater Studio "Kommersant" Lenar Gilmutdinov, Chairman of the Student Council of KIU Nasybullin Marcel.

In an atmosphere of luxury and beauty, under the bright lights of the KIU assembly hall, the grand finale of the competition began. Girls in dazzling evening dresses and guys in tuxedos defiled onto the stage to a standing ovation from the audience. They have already come a long way in the qualifying stages and are ready to demonstrate their maximum to the jury.

The first contest is a "Business Card", where the contestants tell about themselves, their hobbies, achievements and life goals. The breadth of interests of our participants is commendable: sports, creativity, charity, social work – in their young years, the participants have already achieved a lot in various fields, and some – in all at once!

The creative contest pleased the participants with its originality and performing skills. The audience saw energetic dancing, recitation of favorite poems, playing musical instruments, beautiful vocals, as well as an original genre, such as stand-up or theatrical production.

The highlight of "M&M" by tradition was an intellectual competition. The questions of the presenters and the jury were not easy: "What should be "Mister and Miss KIU?", "What national pride does Russia have?" "Which work could you mention, and why exactly did it impress you?", "What would you wish for if you saw a shooting star?" But the contestants coped with the tasks with dignity, showing reaction, a sense of humor and eloquence.

It was not easy to choose the winners, as all the participants showed their best side. After conferring, the jury members announced the following decision: Mister and Miss KIU 2022 – Renata Hamidullina and Alisher Mukhamatzhonov.

A remarkable event was that for the first time in the history of the competition, a foreign student took the prize. A student from Colombia Cortes Jara Hasleny Tatiana studying at the preparatory faculty received the title «1–st vice –Miss KIU». Tatiana won over the audience and the jury members not only with her voice, singing a song in Spanish, but also with her charisma, intelligence, external and internal beauty.
