On April 10, the Russian eSports Federation determined the list of universities that will take part in the next season of the Russian Esports Student League from April 15.
As a rule, the region is represented by one of the strongest university teams. As an exception, given the level of development of esports and the number of esports players, Tatarstan is allowed to field two teams for the second year in a row. Along with our republic, only Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Nizhny Novgorod region have such a right.
The second consecutive year and the third time in the last four years, the eSports team of KIU has been awarded such a right. It should be noted that this is no coincidence. Over the past five years, our team has been among the winners of the overall standings of the Tatarstan eSports League five times. In March 2023, despite the change of generations, the university team with a huge margin won the “silver” of the league overall standings. At the same time, our e-sportsmen "took" the first places in two out of five disciplines at once on a non-alternative basis: in Clash Royale and StarCraft II. The college student Yakov Genshpring, the reigning champion of Tatarstan, who has been unrivaled in the republic for three years, as well as our foreign student Pardo Piñeros Juan Felipe, who broke into the ranks of the strongest cybersportsmen of the Volga Federal District and the Ural Federal District last season, especially distinguished themselves.Congratulations to our students and wish further victories!
