On May 5, on the square in front of the college building of the Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov, a traditional Meeting of Memory was held together with the Kazan Precision Engineering Plant named after M.I. Kalinin (Tochmash).
Vladimir Zharikov, a veteran of labour of the Tochmash plant, Ruslan Zagitov, Vice-rector for Youth Policy of KIU, as well as students of the University and the young workers of the plant, delivered a solemn speech.
Victory Day is close and important to each of us, - Ruslan Zagitov addressed the participants of the rally. - There is no family in Russia that was not touched by the Great Patriotic War. We are proud of the valiant generation of winners. The fact that we are the heirs, and it is our duty to preserve the memory and pass it on to new generations.”Veterans of the Great Patriotic War, workers of the plant and students of KIU gathered to pay tribute to the memory of the fallen in battles, to remember those whose names are forever imprinted in the history of our country.
Traditionally, veterans were the first to approach the obelisk with eternal flame, then - workers of plant, representatives of the administration and faculty of KIU.
At the end of the rally, the students presented a concert program to the veterans.
