On July 10, in the IT Park named after Bashir Rameev, the results of the Tatarstan eSports Student League were summed up and the grand final of the first ever Computer Sports Cup of Tatarstan with a prize fund of 100,000 rubles was launched.
After welcoming speeches, Minister of Digital Development of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Tatarstan Airat Khairullin and Chairman of the Tatarstan Republican Branch of the Federation of Computer Sports of Russia, Chairman of the Permanent Commission for Youth Affairs, Physical Education and Sports and Deputy of the Kazan City Duma Evgeny Chekashov presented the cup of the absolute champion Tatarstan eSports Student League 2022 to the First Vice-Rector of Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov Igor Bikeev. The title of the absolute champion was assigned to KIU due to the fact that our team won not only in the overall standings among 16 teams from other universities and colleges of the republic, but also won in every single eSports discipline and in every single type of program. Previously, in the history of the student league, no one could do this.
The draw of the first ever Cup of the Republic of Tatarstan led to a natural result. Valiullin Timur, the current champion of Tatarstan in the form of the Tekken 7 program, a student of the faculty of hospitality and design at KIU, left no chances for his rivals and won a well-deserved victory in the cup. The honorary trophy was presented to the winner by the Minister of Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan Vladimir Leonov. Now, as the owner of the Cup of Tatarstan, Timur will represent our university and our republic at the Russian eSports Cup, where he will get a chance to win, along with the next title, a part of the competition prize fund of 2,500,000 rubles.
