The Interfax news agency, within the framework of the National University Ranking project, presented a consolidated rating of Russian universities for education in the field of entrepreneurship. According to the results of the study, KIU took 9th place among all universities in Russia and 1st place among universities in the Republic of Tatarstan.

The final ranking includes only the 20 best universities implementing educational programs in entrepreneurship, only three of these universities are universities of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Universities were assessed based on a survey of students, graduates, program directors, academic staff and other open sources. In particular, the presence of universities' own educational and methodological materials, the use of a matrix of entrepreneurial competencies, the creation of students' own businesses and the management of its development were studied.

High positions in the ranking are associated with the great attention that KIU pays to entrepreneurship education.

Back in 2011, one of the first university business incubators in Russia was created at our university. For many years, the Center for the Development of Entrepreneurial Competences operated at KIU, aimed at developing an entrepreneurial culture among students. The educational programs of all areas of training at KIU include the courses “Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship” and “Fundamentals of Project Activities”.

Numerous victories of our guys in the Russian and regional WorldSkills (Young Professionals) championships in the “Entrepreneurship” competency, as well as gold medals in the European EuroSkills championship of Karina Khaleeva and Evgenia Kamratova in the same competency speak about the high quality of education and professionalism of KIU teachers in this field.

For the second year now, the university has been actively implementing a comprehensive acceleration program, where students can develop their business ideas and implement a startup project in real life. Thus, in 2022 and 2023, 12 of our student teams won a grant from the federal “Student Startup” competition in the amount of 1 million rubles. This result is a natural, well-deserved fact in the success story of both the students themselves and the KIU Accelerator as a whole.
