On December 25, the award ceremony for the finalists of the contest “Foreign Student of the Year” in the city of Kazan was held at the “Unics”, in which a student of the Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov Pardo Pineros Juan Felipe (Colombia) received the well-deserved title of laureate in the nomination “Intelligence of the Year”.

The "Foreifn Student of the Year" contest aims to identify international students who achieve outstanding achievements and make significant contributions to society. The event is held by the Committee for Children and Youth Affairs of the Executive Committee of the city of Kazan together with the Youth public organization “Association of foreign students of the city of Kazan”.

Pardo Pineros Juan Felipe is the leader of the KIU Clash Royale esports team, which has repeatedly become the winner and prize-winner of many republican and all-Russian competitions. In one calendar year, Juan Felipe fulfilled the requirements for the assignment of the first sports category six times, winning all the republican and interregional competitions in which he participated. It is significant that during this period he played more than 40 official matches for the national team of our university, and won victories in all of them. Moreover, more than half of the victories were with a “clean sheet”.

In addition to e-sports activities, Pardo Pineros Juan Felipe is also the leader and direct participant of the dance group “Merengue”, which actively participates in intra-university and national festivals. For the second year in a row, the team has taken part in the Republican festival “Foreign Student Day” and this year won a 1st degree diploma.
