The second week of the international multi-sport tournament “Games of the Future”, organized for the first time in the history of the world, has begun. Our students take the most active part in it, most of them are volunteers of this outstanding sporting event, helping sportsmen, spectators and participants in the business program.
KIU sportsmen are represented at the “Games of the Future” in two competitive disciplines: the virtual reality simulator Beat Saber and the rhythm simulator Just Dance. 11 KIU students from Colombia, Brazil, India and, of course, Russia competed with each other and with representatives of other countries. Thanks to partnerships with the Phygital Sports Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan, boys and girls were able to train for free on the same equipment on which the “Games of the Future” themselves are directly held. Therefore, they were the first to demonstrate a high and above average level of sportsmanship at the qualifying stage. We hope and believe that the Republic of Tatarstan will be represented in the finals of the competition by phygital sportsmen of our university.
The teaching staff of KIU, along with phygital sportsmen, also showed their class in the educational and business part of the program. At the II All-Russian Conference “Phygital Science: Any Ideas?” one of the main speakers was the head. Department of Philosophy and Socio-Political Disciplines, Professor, Doctor of Philosophy Elena Yakovleva. Her report on the topic: “E-sports and phygital sports as social phenomena in the life of Homo Ludens, who became an electronic nomad, or an apology for a modern game,” raised questions and heated discussions, and earned an ovation from the audience.
On February 28 at 11.00 on the stage of the official ceremonies of the International Exhibition Center "Kazan Expo" a master class on the topic: "Character design: neural networks and references" was conducted by the head of the CLIPS studio, a graduate of the Faculty of Economics of KIU Sergei Khurtin.
On February 29 at 14.30, visitors to Kazan Expo, participants and spectators of the "Games of the Future" will be able to hear a popular science lecture by our other speaker - Svetlana Tuktamysheva, head of the Career Navigation Laboratory, associate professor of the Department of Philosophy at KIU, lecturer at the Russian Knowledge Society. The topic of her speech: “Professions of the future: at the intersection of the real and the virtual.”
Admission to all events of the educational and business program, including speeches by speakers from KIU, is free. Come! It will be interesting!
