The third day of the International Forum “Continuous system of inclusive education: current state and development prospects” was entirely devoted to practice: fascinating and lively discussions, topical reports and workshops brought together leading researchers and students from different cities of Russia and Belarus.
“Inclusion is not just working with people who have certain characteristics of physical or intellectual development. Inclusion is the involvement of all people of our society in educational, social, cultural relations,” the Chairman of the Forum’s program committee, , Vice-Rector for Continuing Education of KIU named after V.G. Timiryasov, Director of the Research Institute of Pedagogical Innovations and Inclusive Education, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Daniya Akhmetova addressed the participants on the third day of the Forum. - Inclusion is the way to change our society for the better, so that every person, regardless of their social status, physical or intellectual condition, financial situation, I could feel myself an equal member of our society.”
Ideas and practical experience are especially important for the younger generation, the vice-rector emphasized. Very soon, our today's students will become teachers in schools, and therefore need the right guidelines. School today should be an area of inclusion, where there is no division between “typical” and special children, and there should be an individual approach to each one.
The forum sections were thematically divided according to topical issues that concern many today. Thus, the section “Correctional and developmental activities in an inclusive camp” brought together experts in organizing children's recreation. The participants discussed best practices for inclusive recreation for children, took a tour of the Miras-Heritage recreation center and determined the prospects for the development of inclusive recreation in Tatarstan.
