The Memorandum covers the spheres of education and academic research, opening opportunities for broad cooperation between the two leading universities in their respective countries. It provides for the creation of an optimal system for joint projects based on the integration of the scientific, educational, innovative, and technological potential of the two universities. The Memorandum was signed in Rio de Janeiro during the implementation of the cultural and educational project "Great BRICS Teachers: The Cultural and Moral Code of the Association." It was signed on behalf of the Brazilian university by Rector Professor Roberto de Andrade Medonho and by the First Vice-Rector, Vice-Rector for Research of Kazan Innovative University, Igor Izmailovich Bikeev, in the presence of the Consul General of Russia in Rio de Janeiro, Andrey Yuryevich Petrov.

KIU is expanding its international contacts within the BRICS framework. It maintains very close cooperative relations with a number of leading Chinese universities. And now, it has broad prospects for work with Brazilian colleagues.
