A qualifying round of the IX Festival of Peoples Friendship “From the Depth of Centuries to the Present Day” took part at KIU. The finals of the festival will be held on January 2020 at Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov.
Over 30 students from Mexico, Colombia, China and Sri Lanka attended the qualifying round.
Conditions of the festival imply a performance of foreign students in three categories: folk song (Russian or national); folk dance (Russian or national); a fairy tale, parable or an ancient history. For more than a month, students, under the guidance of their teachers of the Department of Russian language and linguistics, were preparing their performances.
A jury saw 15 performances in all categories. A choice was not easy: beautiful voices, colorful, independently prepared costumes, expression and lyricism made each performance unique and vibrant. The jury proposed to present a folk dance about the legend “The Ball of Fire” (Colombia), the musical composition “Blizzard” (Colombia), the musical composition and the poem “Beauty Colombia!” (Colombia), the production of “Shurale” (Colombia) at Moscow State University.
