What professions in the field of ecology exist, what environmental problems specialists face, how the work of an ecologist can help the planet – this was told to Kazan schoolchildren at the EcoHub exhibition. The event was held in the Mega shopping and entertainment center with the support of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan. The exhibition was attended by universities that train future ecologists. At the KIU stand, the students got acquainted with the layout of the waste recycling plant, tested such modern devices as the Hobbit gas analyzer for monitoring the amount of oxygen in the air, a luxmeter for measuring light, a noise meter for measuring sound, and a mini ekrspress laboratory Bee U for environmental research. In addition, high school students played a computer game on sorting garbage, took part in intellectual competitions and received memorable prizes. Also, the children were waiting for the university fair, where representatives of the university's admissions committee told future applicants about the conditions for admission to KIU, the features of the 2021 admission campaign and the educational process.
Within the framework of the project, a tour of waste sorting stations located in Mega was also held for schoolchildren. In just two days of the Ecohab, the exhibition was visited by more than 800 schoolchildren of Kazan.
