The KIU hosted the presentation and opening of the startup accelerator program "Accelerator KIU – 2022". As part of the two-month intensive course, students will be trained to create a startup from scratch.
The participants of the event were welcomed by the Vice-rector for Corporate Management of KIU, Doctor of Economics, Head of the program Timur Kramin. He noted that our university is a federal platform of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation for the implementation of the acceleration program.
During the training, students will learn how to turn their ideas into projects, present a startup to potential partners and investors, attract financing for their projects, scale business and much more. The KIU accelerator program is distinguished by the fact that startups that have entered the TOP 50 receive a monetary reward. First place - 50 thousand rubles, 2-5 places - 30 thousand rubles, the rest of the TOP 50 projects - 10 thousand rubles each. Another advantage of participating in the accelerator program is the opportunity to defend your startup as a diploma and significantly strengthen your portfolio during employment.
According to the content, the program is divided into a theoretical one, in which students are waiting for lectures and seminars, where lecture material, consideration of examples, answers to questions, discussion of cases and projects will be presented. The second part of the project is the practical part – working with mentors, which includes nine missions, starting with the planning of the study, and ending with the calculation of margin profit.
All participants of the program must pre-register on Leader-ID, the digital platform of the Университет 2035, as well as on the website of the Акселератор КИУ - 2022 (ieml.ru).
Timur Vladimirovich also drew the attention of the students to the fact that when building a team, it is necessary to take into account that three key competencies are needed for a startup. This is leadership and representative competence – the ability to lead and present a project to partners, technological – the ability to create a product and develop it, commercial – the ability to sell, promote, study the market.
During the meeting, students asked questions of interest to them. For example:
- How many projects will participate in the project in total?
- Up to 100 startups
- When is the last day of application submission?
- Until October 9 inclusive
- What is the peculiarity of a startup?
- In its innovation and technology.
