There are many foreign students studying Russian at KIU. In order to diversify the development of the great and mighty Russian language, a phonetic tournament was organized for them on November 2, where they, divided into teams, competed in pronunciation. The jury members – teachers of the Department of Russian Language and Linguistics and employees of the Department of International Relations of KIU - evaluated the abilities of the participants.

4 teams named after musical instruments took part in the tournament: "Drum", "Accordion", "Pipe", "Cello". Each team had to present themselves and their musical instrument without using words, thereby demonstrating their creativity.

The tournament consisted of 5 stages. Foreign students competed in the knowledge of the alphabet and in the correct pronunciation of Russian letters and sounds, tongue twisters, numbers, verses from numbers and much more. Also, the teams were helped by the audience – their friends and classmates. Despite the difficulties, the guys showed their knowledge and skills with enthusiasm and burning eyes.

According to the results of the tournament, the best team with the highest number of points was "Pipe" team. All participants were presented with memorable gifts.
