A culinary masterclass was held for KIU students as part of a large festival held at our University in the Year of National Cultures and Traditions. Industry professionals, brand-chef of Zuka, Soho, Cups restaurants Dmitry Stoch and sous chef of Zuka restaurant Dinar Gibadullin prepared delicious Japanese dishes, talked about their history and how the highest quality of dishes is achieved. Representatives of Fine Group also presented the group's restaurants to students and invited them to work there. The organizer was the Faculty of Hospitality and Design of KIU.
In the cozy atmosphere of the Studio of National Culinary named after Yunus Akhmetzyanov, located in KIU, our students got acquainted with the culinary traditions of the East and, of course, tasted the delicacies prepared by the masters. For example, students learned that the traditional Japanese sushi dish was not invented in the Land of the Rising Sun, but in China. And the "Philadelphia" and "California" rolls popular in our country were invented by Japanese chefs when it turned out that Americans prone to megalomania did not appreciate small portions of sushi.
The chefs demonstrated a special technique for preparing sushi and rolls, spoke about the values of their restaurants and, of course, presented freshly prepared dishes to the highest standards for samples to students and university staff. In the presence of students, the dishes were thermally processed (this is necessary to sterilize fish) and beautifully served with a necessary element of any East Asian meal - chopsticks.
Everyone was satisfied with the tasting and thanked the guests for the delicacies. Having received a charge of energy for the whole day (as you know, sushi and rolls are nutritious and rich in micronutrients), the students went to the classrooms.
But the gastronomic trips in KIU do not end there. Events within the framework of the Gastronomic Festival will be held throughout the Year of National Cultures and Traditions.
