Our University is called innovative because any activity is carried out on the basis of innovative, advanced research and development. This has been the case since the founding of the University by the first rector Vitaly Timiryasov. This will remain.
E-sports, as one of the most innovative sports, has been successfully developing at KIU for more than 5 years. During this time, our e-sportsmen have achieved significant success, gained fame and respect not only in the republic, but throughout the country.
Last week, as part of the international forum Kazan Digital Week, the “Phygital Science” conference was held at Kazan-Expo. The conference was actively attended by: the KIU women’s team in the form of the MLBB program, the KIU men’s “Colombian” team in phygital football, as well as our individual esports athletes in non-team disciplines. Students met interesting speakers, including: A. Agafonov – First Deputy General Director of the ANO “Russia – Land of Opportunity”; I. Karikh – Deputy General Director of the Russian Znanie (Knowledge) Society; O. Gural – Director of the Scientific Department of the Russian eSports Federation; V. Mironov is the Creative Producer of Roscosmos and other honorary persons.
As a result of the conference, both of our teams received an invitation from the Director of the Department of Communications, Youth and Social Projects of the Agency for the Development of Computer and Other Sports, Kristina Kolesnikova, to take part in the test and qualifying competitions “Phygital Games”. Perhaps it is our students who, based on the selection results, will enter the top 16 teams from all over the world and become participants in the first “Games of the Future”.
Let's wish them good luck in sports!
