On January 25, on Tatyana’s Day the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a look at KIU new campus, which includes a sports complex and dormitory. The President set up an “excellent” grade to an organization of a student life at KIU. It was the best present on Student Day.
There was a sign “Today everything is possible for students,” at the entrance to the university, and on that day, everything was really like that. After all, students received a unique opportunity to communicate personally with the head of the Republic of Tatarstan and talk about the main moments in the life of their beloved university.
An excursion for the President was conducted by a chairman of the presidium of the student council Nikita Osipov and a chairman of the student council of the Faculty of Service, Tourism and Food Service Management Leyla Shakurova. On behalf of all students of the university, they greeted the President and said that “student acceptance” of the new building was taking place on that day. A student is the most important person at the university, and therefore at KIU everything is done for a student.
“In the new building, modern technologies are used, for example, artificial intelligence that recognizes faces and establishes an emotional state of students,” Nikita suggested to the President to try the technology himself. Artificial intelligence, of course, recognized the President of Tatarstan.
Then the delegation went to the most delicious part of the building - a spacious kitchen. The President of the Republic was presented a student festival of national cuisines. The best samples of culinary art were prepared and presented to the guest by KIU students fr om Colombia, China, Russia, Udmurtia, Mari El, Chuvashia and Tatarstan.
More than 14,000 students from 56 regions and 12 countries of the world study at KIU. Therefore, students accepted the news about a construction of the new dormitory with a big pleasure. The President was presented with the new student dormitory with a capacity of 150 beds. In one of the rooms, the President spoke with students from Colombia in his native language. Having been in our city during the World Cup, the guys fell in love with Kazan and came to us again but already to study at KIU. Along with the Russian language at our university, they also learn the Tatar language just for themselves.
At the new sports complex for playing sports, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan was presented with the winning cups of KIU athletes. A chairman of the university’s sports committee spoke about the outstanding results of our students in sports such as football, basketball, handball, hockey, table tennis, weightlifting, gymnastics, paintball, and others.
The final point of the tour was coworking. It is a public space for communication and a joint work of students. The coworking of KIU is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Tatar ASSR. In a cozy atmosphere, Rustam Nurgalievich talked with students and Rector Asiya Timiryasova. “Students of our university are actively involved in all major projects and events in our Republic,” the student council chairman explained. “And, of course, two great dates, the 100th anniversary of the Tatar ASSR and the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory, are in the center of our attention.” Nikita Osipov also presented to the President the patriotic project “Streets of Our Heroes”: “In Kazan, many streets are named after war heroes. So university students created a project wh ere any person can use a map to choose a street and read a biography of a war hero in an honor of whom a street was named, and learn about his exploits. "
