More than 100 people living in the Republic of Tatarstan will be able to take part in the project. As part of the further development of the idea and the expansion of educational opportunities for the deaf and hard of hearing, it is planned to increase the number of online courses. It is also planned to expand the audience by increasing the territorial coverage of the project, partners and interested communities will be involved.
The Russian educational environment for people with disabilities is experiencing great difficulties now. So, there are not enough teachers-specialists in working with deaf children, the shortage of teaching staff reaches almost 80%. As a result, an impressive proportion of deaf children do not receive proper education. Free online courses of CIU are designed to partially solve these problems and help people with disabilities in professional development or retraining.
Educational materials are already available on the KIU YouTube channel for mass use by the deaf and hard of hearing. Graduates of schools and students with hearing problems, as well as deaf and hard of hearing aged 25 to 60 years are invited to study. At the end of the course, all students will be certified and receive a diploma of additional education.
