According to the Interfax National Ranking of Universites 2023, Kazan Innovative University named after V. G. Timiryasov once again showed an excellent result, ahead of many Russian and Tatarstan universities.

KIU took 1st place among private universities in Russia in two indicators at once: "Education" and "Innovation", confirming its name as an Innovative University. Also, according to the criterion "Education", KIU entered the TOP-3 among all the universities of Tatarstan.

Over the past year, Kazan Innovative University has risen by 72 points in the overall ranking of Russian universities. The University almost doubled the result in terms of "Education" among all universities in the country; 1.5 times - in terms of "Research" and 3.5 times - in terms of "Cooperation". According to all research criteria, in 2023 Kazan Innovative University entered the TOP-5 private universities in Russia (2nd place in terms of "Cooperation", 4th place in terms of "Brand" and 5th place in terms of "Research" and "Socialization").

As part of the project, experts assessed the activities of 368 Russian universities. The ranking includes all high-profile higher education institutions in the country: 28 national research universities, 10 federal, 32 flagship, 4 government, and 98 universities participating in the program "Priority 2030".
