In the assembly hall of KIU named after V.G. Timiryasov held a festive concert “Under One Sky” dedicated to the National Unity Day. This holiday symbolizes the heroism and unity of all peoples of our country, regardless of social status, religious views or nationality. The ceremony was attended by professors, students and administration of KIU.

Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Yulia Kamasheva made a welcoming speech to those present: “Dear students! Have you ever thought that from one thing many things are born, but these many things are one in nature. And here we are, sitting in the hall, all different, different from each other, coming from different cities and republics, belonging to different cultural traditions. But we are all united in our love for the Motherland. We have all gathered today and are looking in one direction - to the future, where there will be peace and harmony between everyone, stability and progress, ensuring success for each of us, and for Russia as a whole. So let's contribute to ourselves bit by bit through education and skills training...”

Students from Tatarstan, Yakutia, Mari El, Chuvashia, the Republic of Tajikistan and Colombia performed creative performances on stage. Through dancing, singing, music and poetry reading in their native languages, they conveyed the uniqueness and diversity of the cultures and traditions of their people. The audience also heard a poem in French performed by a KIU student and a world-famous song in Italian “Time To Say Goodbye” from KIU professor Gulfiya Talipova.

In addition, the organizers of the event prepared a competition for the guests of the holiday on their knowledge of the peoples of Russia and the history of National Unity Day. As a result of the competition, the three students who scored the most points received gifts from KIU.

The event ended with a performance by artist of the Kazan City Philharmonic Rustem Nasybullin with the song "Мы вместе" (“We are together”).

It is important to note that the festive concert, which has been organized by KIU for several years in a row, is an excellent example of the friendship of peoples, as well as confirmation that in our country all peoples are connected by a common history, traditions and culture.
