The Rector of KIU Asia Timiryasova made a presentation at the XXIV World Conference TC Global.

For the first time in history, TCI GLOBAL Conference 2021 is being held in one of the most ambitious regions of Russia, the Republic of Tatarstan. Kazan was chosen as the venue for a reason. The Rector of KIU made a presentation on "Private university in the system of training specialists for tourism and the public environment". Dr. Timiryasova emphasized the extensive experience of our university in this field, telling about the history of the university, noting its high involvement in training personnel for the tourism and hospitality industry.

"This work has been carried out regularly since 2003," the rector said. - To date, we have implemented training programs for specialists in the field of tourism at all skill levels – students have the opportunity to build a continuous educational trajectory in the "college – bachelor's – master's – postgraduate" system.

In 2011, the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan entrusted KIU with the mission of an anchor university in a scientific and educational cluster in the field of trade, hospitality industry, service and services. The cluster brought together professional educational organizations, large employers and government agencies. Thus, for 10 years our university has been one of the main players on the regional platform created for the dialogue of suppliers and customers of personnel in the field of marketing, tourism and restaurant service."

According to the rector, this cluster has become one of the most successful examples of the implementation of public-private partnership. "Within the framework of cluster cooperation, we clearly realized that with the active participation of employers, the training of human resources for the tourism and hospitality industries can be brought to a qualitatively new level," the report says. - This has become the main rule of our work. In cooperation with industry partners, fundamentally new educational programs were formed that take into account the needs and recommendations of specific employers. Employers are active not only in the formation of competence models, but also take part in the independent assessment of graduates' qualifications.

Separately, the rector focused on the inclusion of the university in the WorldSkills movement ("Young Professionals").

In 2016, the University became an associate partner of the Young Professionals movement, and began to actively introduce WorldSkills technologies into the educational space of both the college and the university. In particular, they formed the basis of the demonstration exam, which has already become a traditional format for assessing the competencies of graduates. All graduates who have passed the demonstration exam and received a Passport of competencies are entered into the database of young professionals, access to which is provided to all leading employers
