This year, the publishing house of KIU "Poznaniye" celebrates the anniversary - 25 years of publications of current methodological and scientific publications, monographs, educational literature. Such activity is unique and significant for our university. KIU is one of the few universities where its publishing house has been successfully operating for many years. Thus, even at the dawn of its development, our university was moving towards the Third mission of the university, reflecting the social orientation of the university, its socially significant projects and initiatives, volunteer and charity events. Being socially active is one of the key tasks of KIU, and "Poznaniye" is incredibly important in realizing this goal. At the origins of the publishing house, as well as the university, stood Dr. Vitaliy Timiryasov - a connoisseur and connoisseur of books. He decides that the university should have its own publishing house. And on September 12, 1996, the Institute of Economics, Management and Law received a license for publishing. This date became the birthday of "Poznaniye" (until 2007 – "Taglimat").

Initially, the task of the editorial and publishing department was to provide students of a young university with educational and methodological literature. To do this, the Institute of Economics, Management and Law acquired the RISO CR 1610 A4 risograph with a capacity of up to 60 copies per minute (the first manuals, university documentation were printed on it), and later - a bookbinder and a cutter. The release of its own methodological publications provided significant assistance in the full-fledged education of students. Alla Adolfovna Kaibiyainen was appointed head of the department, for some time she was his only employee. Alla Adolfovna edited the texts herself, made them up, came up with the cover design. Since 1999, Natalia Lvovna Matveeva, the first professional layout designer who knows how to create book layouts in Adobe PageMaker, began working in the department, which allowed the department to perform timely and high-quality work on the release of planned educational and scientific literature. Gradually the team grew. The department received a small room at 17 Zaitsev Street.

Currently, the publishing house "Poznaniye" has several divisions with their tasks and responsibilities: an editorial and publishing department, two editorial offices (the Russian Journal of Economics and Law - until 2021 "Actual Problems of Economics and Law" and the newspaper "University News") and a printing house. Each division is a team of professional editors, proofreaders, typesetters, translators, designers, printers with many years of experience. The educational, scientific, popular literature produced by us has proven itself from the best side, the proof of this is the victories at book publishing competitions, including for the high culture of the publication.

Of course, there were difficulties in the process of work. But the university management has always met the requests of the department. In 2007, new SBL 39FV thermal transfer machine (39AM), IDEAL 4850-95 electric guillotine were purchased, in 2013 - Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE C9280 PRO color printer, A3 risograph (with a capacity of 130 sheets per day), in 2020 - DUPLO DFC 101 leaf–picking tower. The printing house currently employs eight units of modern technology. With the installation of these machines, textbooks, collections of scientific papers and monographs began to come out faster and better.

The publishing house has experience in the production of school textbooks - these are "Fundamentals of Law", "Economics", workbooks on economics for students of specialized classes of educational schools; methodological recommendations for teachers. The books were published in Russian and Tatar and distributed to schools in Tatarstan. And now this tradition continues. In 2018, we prepared and published a textbook "History and Culture of Tatarstan" (authors O. D. Agapov, E. I. Agapova). The manual turned out to be very popular not only among teachers, but also among guides, since books on the history of our republic for schools have not been published since Soviet times. In 2021, the University, together with the Adriana Kids Club Center for Child Development of the Luciano Medical and Wellness Complex, published a 5,000-copy edition of the book "Dyslexia and Dysgraphy as causes of declining school performance", which is very necessary for teachers and children, under the scientific editorship of Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor D. Z. Akhmetova. The educational and methodical manual will be distributed in schools of Tatarstan.

However, not only teaching, but also scientific activities are carried out in higher educational institutions. Therefore, very soon scientific works began to be published: abstracts and materials of conferences, monographs. The first collection of scientific papers of doctoral students was published in 1998. The first monograph "Competitive relations in a market economy: Questions of theory and methodology" by A. Sh. Khasanova – in 1999. Since then, over 200 collections of scientific papers, about 100 monographs and a total of 1957 scientific and educational works have been published.

About a scientific journal. In 2007, the first issue of the scientific journal "Actual Problems of Economics and Law" was published, the first editor-in-chief of which was Vitaly Timiryasov, and now his case is continued by Doctor of Law, Professor Igor Bikeev. I remember the first meeting of the editorial board, at which the luminaries of science gathered: Viktor Malkov, Leonid Rabinovich, Shamil Yenikeev, Zufar Fatkhutdinov and others. And I, as the executive secretary, tried to write down every word of their recommendations. I was just starting to work at the magazine, and each of them had many years of experience as both authors and members of editorial boards.

This year the magazine turns 15 years old, it was registered with Roskomnadzor on November 16, 2006. What have we achieved during this period? The magazine has become recognizable, it has good indicators. Thus, it ranks 580th (among 4237 publications) in the overall SCIENCE INDEX ranking for 2020 (on the topic "State and Law. Legal sciences– - 43rd, on the topic "Economics. Economic Sciences" - 81st). In 2015, Ruslan Arkadievich Grigoriev became the executive secretary of the journal "Actual Problems of Economics and Law". With his arrival, the magazine received new opportunities for development. Currently, the publication has been renamed the Russian Journal of Economics and Law – this is a more understandable name for foreigners. Hopefully, with the renaming, the chances of the journal being included in international databases will increase.

About art publications. At the same time, not limited to the release of scientific and educational literature, the publishing house is actively working in the field of fiction. So, in the early 2000s, we began to produce poetry collections: poems by Tatar classics Gabdulla Tukai and Musa Jalil, Kazan poet-songwriter Larisa Fomina ... A little later, a literary almanac began to be published, in which the creativity of students and teachers of our university was presented. I think Vitaly Gainullovich started collecting and publishing poems of his employees for a reason – he always wanted not only him, but also others to show interest in the poetic word, to feel the beauty of the word, to join poetry. The matter was not limited to the publication. After the book was published, literary and musical evenings were held, at which the audience received a powerful charge of aesthetic energy. And this tradition, laid down by Dr. Timiryasov, continues.

Thanks to the cooperation of the university with the People's poet of Tatarstan Robert Minnullin, two of his books were published: "Seasons of my Heart" (2018) and "Gaziz zamandashlaryma-instadashlaryma ..." (2021). The presentation of the second book, published after the poet's death, was held at the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan and received the warmest reviews.

In total, about 50 titles of fiction and popular literature have been published.

About the series "Treasury of Tatarstan". The success of the future book largely depends on the theme of the work. Its relevance is determined by the political, scientific, cultural and educational significance of the work. Such an urgent topic for us was the preservation of the traditions of the Tatar and other peoples and the reconstruction of many of their components in various industries. Since 2014, the publishing house has been leading the project "Treasury of Tatarstan", finding rare and forgotten books in the archives and opening them to the modern reader. These are "Kazan Tatars in statistical and ethnographic relations" by Karl Fuchs, and "Instructions to the cook" by Kayum Nasyri, and "Master of Cooking: a gift for ladies = Ash Ostasy: khanymnarga hadiya" by Fauzia Ibragimova, and "Developing children's games of Tatars: on the pages of magazines of the early twentieth century".

Kazan Innovative University is rich in creative people who are happy to join this difficult, but exciting and necessary work. Thanks to them, such books as "Provincial Pages of Boris Pasternak", "Return to the Origins: Kayum Nasyri in the Optics of Modernity: a philosophical triptych about the Tatar Leonardo da Vinci" by E. L. Yakovleva and others were published in the series "Treasury of Tatarstan".

In 2020, our university, together with the Association of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Kazan and the Republic of Tatarstan, published the book "Treasures of Tatar Cuisine", which tells the story of the restoration of the Old Tatar Settlement, describes Tatar traditions and contains 100 recipes of dishes. The book is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.

In total, we have published 20 books in the "Treasury of Tatarstan" series. All of them are publicly available on the website of Kazan Innovation University, they can be downloaded completely free of charge and without registration.

We are not going to stop there. We can be compared to archaeologists who, having discovered an ancient cultural layer, continue to search in the hope of unearthing other, deeper layers. We are also painstakingly conducting research, and perhaps new interesting finds will open up to us. The kitchen and the meal are only one cultural layer. And we have many areas: economics, law, and psychology… Which are based on people, relationships between them, lifestyle, creativity. We will search, find, preserve and multiply cultural values!

About book contests and festivals. Since 2006, the publishing house has been actively participating in the All-Russian competition of educational publications for higher educational Institutions "University Book", and in 2014 and 2019, it was itself the organizer of the International Industry Competition of publications for higher educational institutions "University Book: Social and Humanitarian Sciences". We (publishing house + authors) have received 119 diplomas and certificates at the All-Russian and regional competitions of publications for higher educational institutions "University Book", 114 - at the competition for the best scientific book "Humanitarian Book", 24 - at other competitions.

Since 2016, the publishing house "cOgnition" participates in the winter and summer book festivals of the Center for Contemporary Culture "SMENA". It's nice that our publications have become recognizable. Since the process of scientific editing and registration of educational literature (publishing editing) is a complex process and must be continuously improved in connection with changing state standards and requirements, the editors of the publishing house periodically undergo training. For example, in 2019, our employees were trained in advanced training courses "Modern aspects of publishing management at the University", organized by the Moscow Polytechnic University (formerly the University of Printing).


And finally, a few words about our people who have made and continue to make a great contribution to the activities of the publishing house "Poznaniye".

These are, first of all, veterans of their business: production manager Zakharova Galina , who has devoted more than 20 years to the printing business; Karimova Svetlana, who has also worked as a technical editor of books for more than 20 years; technical editor and head of the editorial office of the Russian Journal of Economics and Law Aimurzayeva Oksana , who has worked in the department for more than 15 years; Kuznetsova Irina , a printing technician with 20 years of experience; Reshotkina Yana , who works as an operator multiplying equipment since 2006; Belyaeva Elena, permanent translator of the magazine since 2007.

In 2011, the editorial and publishing department of the Naberezhnye Chelny branch of KIU was subordinated to the RIO University, which increased our capacity. The manager Olga Valeryevna Koroskina replicates the publications and sends them to Kazan, to the printing house, where they are already being turned into books. I would like to express my gratitude to her and Irina Ivanovna Frolova, Deputy Director for Scientific Work, who oversees the work of the branch department, for prompt and high-quality work.

Since 2015, Gulnara Abdulakhatovna Tarasova has been the editor of the Russian Journal of Economics and Law - a competent, initiative, respected person, who is a fan of the cause. Since 2018, Lilia Shamilevna Andurskaya has been working as an editor in the editorial and publishing department, it is she who registers all the manuscripts coming to RIO. Since 2020, Ekaterina Mannapova has been working as a proofreader.

In July 2020, designer Gulnara Zagretdinova returned to us. It is thanks to her efforts that textbooks "dress up" in beautiful covers.

Each of these people is a specialist, a professional and a master of his craft with many years of experience, able to quickly, efficiently and efficiently solve the tasks set by the university.
