Today, the importance of international cooperation and understanding the values of different countries is becoming increasingly relevant. Under the auspices of the BRICS summit, a round table “BRICS +: Values, Strategies and Practices of the Association” was held at Kazan Innovative University. The event brought together important experts and members of the public to discuss key issues of global values, development strategies and socio-cultural aspects of interaction between the BRICS countries.
The event was attended by the chairman of the “Team 2018” center and the head of the regional resource center for supporting volunteerism Mikhail Vasiliev, PhD in Economics, expert, chairman of the first national network “RUCON”, managing partner of RUKON SPGroup Olga Samovarova, vice-rector for economics and strategic development of KIU, PhD in Economics Liliya Vorontsova and many others. The moderator was Oleg Agapov, Doctor of Philosophy, professor, advisor to the rector for strategic initiatives of KIU, expert of the Federal Agency for National Affairs and the Public Chamber of the Republic of Tatarstan.
In his speech, Mikhail Vasiliev cited the results of a study of values in the BRICS countries. He emphasized that family remains a priority value in Russia, which should be valued regardless of culture and nationality, and love, respect, honesty, kindness and peace are among the key values for all countries of this association.
The research results presented during the event made it possible to better understand what values are important for each BRICS country, as well as to identify common and distinctive features in the values of different countries. This information will help deepen mutual understanding and respect between countries, as well as determine strategies for developing cooperation based on mutual understanding of values.
Particular attention at the round table was drawn to the report of the famous expert Olga Samovarova, “The values of cooperation versus the values of competition.” She emphasized that in order to successfully build international relations, it is necessary to know and respect the values of partners, and strive to find common positions and the inadmissibility of competition to the detriment of the collective good.
