Congratulations to Elizaveta A. Gromova on the brilliant defense of her doctoral thesis!
Today, on October 17, 2024, Elizaveta A. Gromova, Senior Researcher of the Research Institute of Digital Technologies and Law of Kazan Innovation University named after V. G. Timiryasov defended her doctoral thesis on the topic “Incentive legal regimes of entrepreneurial activity in the sphere of digital innovations and technologies”. The defense took place at the session of KFU.051.2 Dissertation Board of Kazan (Volga) Federal University. The dissertation was submitted for the degree of Dr. Sci. (Law), specialization 5.1.3. Private-law (civilistic) sciences.

As part of the Decade of science and technology, strategic national priorities of scientific and technological development, Kazan Innovative University named after V. G. Timiryasov hosted the largest in Russia and CIS countries International scientific and practical conference “Digital Technologies and Law”, which brought together thousands of participants from dozens of countries.

The plenary session of the 3rd International scientific and practical conference raised topical issues of digitalization in law
Kazan Innovative University hosted the plenary session of the 3rd International scientific and practical conference “Digital Technologies and Law” organized by KIU named after V. G. Timiryasov jointly with the Ministry of Digital Development of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Tatarstan. This event brought together representatives of different branches of legal science and practice, authorities and business to discuss topical issues concerning the mechanisms of ensuring the legal regime of rapidly developing digital technologies.

A new issue of the Journal of Digital Technologies and Law (Vol. 2, No. 2)
Contemporary Foreign Legal thought on the New Phenomena of Digital Transformation Just recently it seemed ephemeral that legal scholars and practitioners around the world would be directly involved in digitalization processes. It seemed hard to imagine that in a short period of time, the rapid leap in technology development would begin to change virtually all areas (including legal activities), making digitalization so comprehensive that it would be perceived as commonplace. One could not suppose that the increasing importance of digital competencies on the labor market would be natural; however, they have become essential for effective use and work with digital technologies. Today, we have to revise the competence-based approach to educating and training qualified lawyers and improving their qualifications, taking into account the digital economy trends that form a new regulatory environment for relations. Such concepts as “digital rights”, “digital maturity”, “technological sovereignty” and many others are deeply embedded into the legal lexicon. Lawyers, together with experts from other branches of knowledge, act in the coordinates of digital transformation, the criteria of which are yet to be defined, given that law is the main factor in the pace of technologization and digitalization of social relations.
