As part of the implementation of the large-scale social and humanitarian project "BRICS: values that unite us", which has been developed since 2023 by Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov, the university delegation participated in the IV International Laboratory of Youth Projects of the BRICS countries on April 7-8, 2025 at MGIMO.

The Grand Prix of the main republican student award "Student of the Year of the Republic of Tatarstan 2024" was won by Svetlana Vyatkina, a student of the Naberezhnye Chelny branch of KIU.
Ildar Begishev, Chief Researcher at the Research Institute of Digital Technologies and Law, Professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure at KIU, joined the team of authors of a monograph “The Cambridge Handbook of the Law, Policy, and Regulation for Human–Robot Interaction”. The team comprised world’s leading scientists in the field of ethical and legal regulation of robotics.
KIU is the center of attraction for representatives of the BRICS countries. This was noted by many high-ranking guests at the final stage of the international and interregional socio-cultural and business program "BRICS Peoples choose life", held on December 18-19 in KIU.
On December 10, the long–awaited final of the beauty and talent contest "Mr and Ms KIU - 2024" was held within the walls of the Tatar State Puppet Theater "Ekiyat".
On December 11, international students of KIU became holders of such titles as laureates and diploma at the Republican festival "Day of the International Student".
